The vision for Animal Waggin Rehabilitation, LLC started years ago.  Tracy Dingman, PT, RVT, CCRT  first learned about the niche field of canine rehabilitation in 2006 as she was finishing her physical therapy degree at Texas Women's University, and was able to spend some time observing at a veterinary clinic.  She was fascinated, but decided initially to focus on developing her skills as a human physical therapist.  She gained experience and expertise working in several settings including outpatient orthopedics, day neuro, skilled nursing, inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, long term acute care, schools, and home health.

In 2015, Tracy's miniature schnauzer Barkley developed severe back and hip pain.  His prognosis was poor, but she wanted him to be as comfortable as possible.  She researched canine rehabilitation services on Oahu and at that time there were few options, if any. She took him to a veterinarian for acupuncture and researched what she could do for him at home.  Barkley was the catalyst for her decision to start a canine rehabilitation business.

In 2018, Tracy decided to go back to school to become a veterinary technician.  She knew that if she was going to take the plunge and start her own canine rehabilitation business, having knowledge and experience in the veterinary field would only help the animals in the long run.  She graduated from Windward Community College in 2020.  Since then she has worked as a veterinary technician and continues to work as a home health physical therapist for humans.  She completed the coursework at Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2021 and is now a "CCRT", or Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist.  She has had the opportunity to work with several dog and cat clients already and is excited to see where this journey goes!

Tracy's goal in establishing Animal Waggin Rehabilitation is to help Oahu's pet ohana live their best lives by providing skilled hands on therapy services in the comfort of their own homes.  Please let us know how she can help you and your furry family member!
